Carnival focuses on affordable and entertaining cruises for all. From themed deck parties for adults to miniature water parks with thrilling speed slides and splash pads, Carnival is all about fun -- so much that it calls its fleet "Fun Ships." Entertainment options are also focused on fun, including live concerts from national headliners, goofy game shows, comedy clubs with major comedians, karaoke bars and a giant sports bar that features a sports video game area. Royal Caribbean cruises tend to be more expensive than Carnival, as they focus on offering as much innovative, active pursuits and larger-than-life entertainment options on ships that are much larger. Most ships feature several pools, a giant rock-climbing wall, sports courts and its signature FlowRider surfing simulator. Entertainment options are major consisting of current Broadway musicals, dare devil water-diving shows and kid-friendly entertainment featuring popular animated characters from the big screen. In addition, Royal Caribbean travels to European ports, while Carnival, as of 2014, does not.
