Are cruise itineraries subject to change?

All itineraries are subject to change in the event of bad weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.

Do I need a passport?

You will need a full 10-year British passport with you with at least 6 months validity after your return date, even if you’re travelling from a UK port. The cruise line will want to view your passport at check in for safety and security reasons. For further information, you can contact the Passport Office on 0300 222 0000 or visit www. gov. uk/browse/abroad/passports

Will I need a VISA?

When you’ve selected your holiday, your cruise specialist will run through any visa requirements with you. If you'd rather find out this beforehand go to http://www. fco. gov. uk for more information.

What type of documents do I need to visit the USA?

If you’re travelling to the USA, the days of filling out a green I-94 piece of paper – known as the Visa Waiver form – for entry into the US have ended. You now need to fill in an online request to enter the States, at least three days before travelling. Although you'll usually get a decision in minutes, it can take up to three days. If you don’t apply, you’ll be turned away at US immigration. The form is called the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation form or ESTA for short. The website address is https://esta. cbp. dhs. gov/esta. It costs US$14, which is about £10 depending on the exchange rate. The ESTA lasts for two years or until your passport expires. Once the ESTA is out of date you have to reapply. The only method for this new procedure is online, so if you don’t have internet access, you may need to get help from a friend, family member or colleague who can register online on your behalf.

Do I need vaccinations?

Vaccinations are required for certain itineraries, so it depends where you choose. Your cruise specialist will be able to tell you about your specific requirements. If you’d like to find out more, the Medical Advisory Service for Travellers Abroad (MASTA) can give you a Health Brief on the countries you intend to visit for a small charge. http://www. masta. org/

When will I receive my tickets and documentation?

You’ll get an initial confirmation for your cruise within 14 days. Then, approximately 7 to 14 days before you travel, we’ll email you your tickets and documentation. If you don’t have email, don’t worry, we’ll post them to you. Don’t forget, you’ll need to show your tickets, passport, insurance documents, plus any required visas to board the ship.

The holiday price on my booking acknowledgement and cruise line invoice do not match?

The invoice issued by the cruise line will not reflect any discounts applied by CruiseDeals. Please refer to our paperwork for the overall price and the date your cruise holiday payments are due.

How do I make amendments to my booking?

If you need to make any amendments to your booking, please contact our After Sales Department on 0871 230 4343. Just so you know, you may be subject to charges, which are detailed in the Terms and Conditions.

When is my balance payment due?

Your balance is due between 14-20 weeks prior to departure, depending on the cruise line. Please check your CruiseDeals confirmation documents for the exact date and amount.

How much luggage can I take?

Your luggage allowance will vary depending on the cruise you’ve booked. On cruises sailing from and to the UK, there are generally no restrictions, although you may be asked to limit the weight of each item to 30kg for handling purposes. Also bear in mind that space may be limited in your cabin. On fly cruises, the norm is 20-25kg per person plus 5kg hand luggage, though it depends on the airline, so please check when you book.

Are children welcome on cruises?

Most cruises lines have a great range of activities for children from 6 months to 17 years, and many ships have dedicated kids’ clubs run by fully qualified staff. Your children are welcome to dine with you, although many ships offer earlier evening meals for little ones, so you can enjoy some quality time with your partner. Babies are catered for on most ships, too, with a selection of baby food. Just so you know, some ships are adult-only, but this will be flagged up in the brochures. If you’re not sure, just ask your reservations consultant for more info.

What if I have mobility problems?

Passengers who aren’t fully mobile are welcome on most cruise ships, usually providing you’re travelling with an able-bodied companion. Please let us know if you need a scooter or wheelchair when you book, as the number allowed on board are limited for health and safety reasons. There are also a small number of cabins adapted for disabled passengers on each ship, though they’re limited.

Can you cater for special dietary needs?

This can easily be arranged. Please let us know your requirements as soon as possible so we can arrange it for you.

Is parking available at the port?

There’s parking at all major ports. The rates vary, depending on the duration of your stay. Please ask your cruise specialist for details when you book.

When can I board the ship?

Normally it’s around 4 hours before you’re due to depart, but check with your cruise line in case they have a different boarding time.

Can I reserve my cabin?

Only if that cabin type/grade is available and with some cruise lines you have to pay a charge. The cabin locations are illustrated in the brochures.

Can I prebook my shore excursions?

Every cruise line has a wide range of shore excursions to help you make the most of your time ashore. To avoid disappointment, we recommend you reserve your preferred excursions in advance with your cruise operator. You’ll find a full list of excursions on the cruise lines’ website, or give us a call and we’ll give you all the details.
