Carnival repositions more cruise ships

Following the announcement that for most of 2016 Carnival Victory would be sailing from Port Canaveral. Carnival revealed two more ships also relocating to offer cruises out of Miami and Charleston.


Carnival Ecstasy. currently positioned in Miami, will offer 4- to 7-night sailings from Charleston. beginning February 6, 2016. Short sailings (of 4 and 5 nights) will visit ports in the Bahamas - Nassau. Freeport and the private island of Half Moon Cay. Longer sailings (7 nights) will also feature calls to Amber Cove and Grand Turk.


Carnival Fantasy. which has been located in Charleston for the past 5 years, will replace Carnival Ecstasy in Miami and beginning February 22 will sail short voyages. 3-night weekend cruises will depart Fridays and will feature overnight stays in Nassau. while 4-night sailings will depart Mondays and also call on Cozumel and Key West.


Prior to the start-up of 3- and 4-day service from Miami, Fantasy will offer aspecial 5-day voyage to Grand Turk and Amber Cove departing February 17, 2016. Carnival Fantasy will be replaced by Carnival Fascination in Miami beginning November 7, 2016. Carnival said details of future plans concerning Fantasy would be announced at a later date.


Additionally, the company released details about Carnival Victory for late 2016. After sailing Bahamas itineraries out of Port Canaveral beginning February, in November 2016 the ship will be repositioned to San Juan. The first of a series 7-night Southern Caribbean cruises will depart November 6, including stops at Barbados, St. Thomas. St. Lucia, St. Maarten and Saint Kitts.
