What to expect

On average, repositioning cruises are actually long, lasting between 10 – 20 days. Examples would be to start a cruise in Australia and end in North America or start a cruise in North America and end in Europe.

You should expect these cruises to cover vast distances and sometimes you won’t see a port for days. Many cruisers hate this and hate being on a ship for 4 – 5 days straight, so you must decide if this is for you.

Also expect that these cruises will be emptier compared to a normal cruise. Because these cruises are transitioning in Fall and Spring, you’re more likely to not have many tourists on the ship or at the ports of call.
