My family did this exact cruise seven years ago. My children, now in their late twenties, had fond memories of the Pride and the cruise, so we did it again. Traveling out of Baltimore is easy. We arrived later (1:30) than we wanted (because we left late), but even with the long lines in Baltimore, they moved swiftly, and we were on board within the hour, eating Chinese food and sipping Pina Coladas!

The personnel were great throughout the cruise. Always friendly, no matter what you requested. And believe me, I requested seconds at meals, extra towels and pillows, and asked the cabin steward for ice late at night. and was always greeted with a smile. BY the way - regarding cleanliness - the employees are scrubbing, vacuuming and shining the Pride 24 hours a day. and cleaning cabins twice a day. anyone who thinks this isnt clean ship is crazy.

The ship is large, and there are 2500 customers on board. But you can learn the ship quickly. There are lots of bars - More a sports bar, a piano bar, and several others. Whether you drink or not, make use of these bars - to listen to music, watch sporting events, etc. When offered a drink, you can say NO. Carnival may make their profit from drinks, but drink at your pace, or not at all!

By the way - find the GYM. EVen if you dont work out -- the sauna and jacuzzi are great.

There are also great comedians at night, and audience participation during the day or night - some of my family enjoyed these shows, some preferred the casino, or catching rays by the pool. I though the musical shows were high school quality, but hey, you may think differently!

The food in the dining room was good. Okay it's not a $150 meal, but just as good as I get at any restaurant in a big city (like Manhattan). There are two "dress up" nights, and the lobster was perfect!

We rented a cabana at Grand Turk, and it was great. We had relief from the sun, and used the pool and beach by Margaritaville for a GREAT day. The $125 spent was a bargain. We did the snorkeling, jet ski, and other boating activities at Half Moon Cay. Once again, excellent activities, and helpful personnel. Freeport - a short day. so we did the shopping which is a few paces from the ship. Dont be afraid to bargain with the shop keepers. They expect it.

All in all - a great time at a great price. Less
