Carnival Dream is Dream class Carnival ship at 128,000 GT, the largest yet built for CCL. Her sister ships are Carnival Breeze (the latest, entered service Jun 03, 2012), and Carnival Magic (entered service May 2011). They all currently are the largest vessels ever built by Fincantieri in Italy. Carnival Dream was based in Port Canaveral and offers week-long voyages to Eastern & Western Caribbean. In 2014 she was repositioned to New Orleans, replacing Carnival Sunshine. The Dream puts extra space to good use, by adding public rooms (with more legroom & elbowroom), and expanding Carnival signature attractions.
Carnival Dream is first in Carnival Corporation featuring water park with lots of slides as newbuilt. She uses larger water park variation (recently added to all Fantasy class vessels). The Dream provides miniature 2-deck golf course, and an outdoor promenade deck with outdoor cafe & whirlpool jacuzzi.
While Carnival Dream is the largest operated by Carnival ship, she is not largest in the whole world, surpassed by Royal Caribbean Oasis & Freedom classes, Cunard RMS Queen Mary 2, and Norwegian Cruises Norwegian Epic. Carnival Dream is equal to RCCL Voyager class, but however, the Dream is 17 ft shorter. She is about 15% larger than the others in Carnival fleet, but still miles behind Oasis of the Seas - her debute was in the U. S. only a few weeks after Carnival Dream.
Carnival Vista is expected to be 133,500 tons, so who will be the largest Carnival winner then?
