Carnival’s 14-Day Panama Canal cruise, which begins in Tampa and ends in Los Angeles, features destinations in the Cayman Islands, Colombia, Costa Rica and Mexico. After a day at sea, the first port of call is on the island of Grand Cayman. Passengers disembark for a full day on the island, swimming with stingrays, playing golf, snorkeling or visiting a marine turtle farm. It takes another day at sea to reach the port of Cartagena in Colombia. Shore excursions include touring a monastery and gold museum and visiting a reptile sanctuary. In the next destination, Puntarenas in Costa Rica, explore the rainforest, ride a train through the countryside or see the ancient petroglyphs of Palma Sola. After two full days at sea, you’ll reach Acapulco, the famous Mexican beach town, then stop in Cabo San Lucas on the way to California. In Acapulco, you can watch the daredevil cliff divers and go deep sea fishing; in Cabo, go whale-watching on a catamaran or swim with dolphins.
