About Voyages of Discovery

The philosophy of a Voyages of Discovery cruise is: “See more, do more.” The UK operator’s single ship, the MV Voyager, is large enough to make ocean crossings but small enough to access less-traveled ports. This mid-range size allows Voyager to visit interesting and historic destinations worldwide, great cities and monuments from the ancient and modern worlds.

The ship was built in 1990 and joined the line in 2012. After some major upgrades, the Voyager now has 278 cabins, almost 90% outside; 30 have balconies. In-cabin digital media players provide entertainment with a variety of movies, concerts and documentaries. There are three dining options, including a specialty restaurant (reservations required) and an alfresco option at the Veranda restaurant.

A piano bar was added, the library was refreshed, soft goods in public places were upgraded — and for scenery-watching, the Lookout Lounge now offers panoramic views. They Voyager has a pool, whirlpools, a small spa and Internet center.

In the coming years, Voyager will travel to many new destinations – in Africa, Iceland, India, the North Cape and the Baltic.
