Vegetarianism in India
India is one of the very few countries in the whole world where vegetarianism is a way of life. There is hardly any doubt in the fact that there are also a large number of non-vegetarians in the country who relish non vegetarian fare of dishes, yet a majority of the Indians still prefer to follow the path of vegetarianism. Some of the people coming in from States such as Gujarat, Rajasthan and parts Haryana come over and settle down in the national capital city of New Delhi. The vegetarians have a diehard preference for vegetarian dishes. They are always on the look out for pure vegetarian restaurants in the city.
A Gamut of Vegetarian Restaurants
There are exclusive vegetarian restaurants in Delhi as well as the suburban areas of Delhi such as Faridabad, Gurgaon and NOIDA which form the National Capital Region, well known as the NCR serving only vegetarian dishes. Vegetarians from Gujarat have a preference for Gujarati dishes which are less spicy and are totally vegetarian. Some of the people belonging to the vegetarian section are extremely strict vegetarians and order the best vegetarian diet which may include rice, lentils, vegetable dishes, curd and salads which is the standard vegetarian fare of dishes.
