Dress Code

What Should I Pack?

The first thing to remember is that you're on vacation and you are onboard Carnival Cruises’ ‘Fun Ships’ to have a good time. Secondly, remember to travel light. Keeping these two pieces of advice in mind are very important for packing.

Casual attire and resort wear is typically appropriate attire onboard and in-port. Shorts, slacks, sundresses, blouses, sandals, etc. are appropriate for women, and clothing for men is just as casual. Travelers might also want to consider bringing along a sweater or jacket for cool evenings and inexpensive rain gear in case of a sudden shower. While restaurants typically have casual dress code, there are also instances where you may visit a specialty restaurant or attend a special Captain’s Cocktail Party and Gala Farewell Dinner that requires business casual or formal attire. For days in port where you will be participating in various shore excursions, you should dress accordingly to the dress codes of the sites you are visiting, as well as bring a pair of sneakers for strenuous walking.

Formal Wear. Men: suit and tie, sport coat, tie and slacks; Women: evening dresses, cocktail dresses; pantsuits.

Casual Resort Wear. Men: sport shorts, slacks; Women: dresses, skirts, shorts, Capri pants.

*Please Note: Shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, and bathing attire are not permitted in the Dining Room during dinner.

McCann and Kevin. Omg, they were amazing, along w the rest of the staff. We asked every crew member personal questions, to get to know them. All the staff was more than accommodating. We had a reroute due to weather but well informed communications. We had delays w disembarkment, but no biggie, kevin was fantastic.

The on board entertainment was sooooooo much fun.

This is our 3rd Carnival Cruise, first time on the Elation. The Elation is very similar to other Carnival Ships. It does tend to rock a bit more than others, however I like that or why be on a ship? I enjoy sitting on deck and doing nothing at all, this is my idea of a vacation and I will do it again.

I recommend training a dozen crew members as EMTs. They should have a backpack with medical supplies with AED and be able to get to any part of the ship in 5 minutes. This may be out of their scope, however I hope someone realizes how important this is.

History [ edit ]

Elation was the first cruise ship to be equipped with an Azipod propulsion system. [4] The pods give Elation better maneuverability compared with her sister ships.

On November 5, 2011 Carnival Elation was moved from Mobile, Alabama to New Orleans. replacing Carnival Ecstasy. which was moved to Port Canaveral, Florida. [5] With Elation relocated to New Orleans, Carnival ceased operations in Mobile, Alabama. [6]

Although Carnival Elation did not receive the full "Evolutions of Fun" upgrade, she received the Punchliner Comedy Club "Fun Ship 2.0" upgrade in 2014. [7] [8]

Layout [ edit ]

The Elation is 70,367 ton ship and is 855 feet long. It has a guest capacity of 2052 and an on-board crew of 920. [3] Elation has been retrofitted with part of, but not all the Carnival "Evolutions of Fun" upgrades, lacking such features as the WaterWorks water park. Also, unlike sister ship Carnival Ecstasy. Elation was not retrofitted to include additional balconies.
